Rhiannon could not believe it. For the first time since the galleian refugees had effectively landed at her door, the fae woman was finally able to have a quiet moment to herself. Well, not entirely to herself – her beloved husband was ever at her side. Yes, she and Ambrigatos were finally married, and she had formally stepped aside as Teumnach's next Queen, revealing at her dear twin brother Rhodri was to be King in her stead.

But there was more than that. Due to her marriage to Ambrigatos, Rhiannon was now crowned as High Queen of Galleia. It might not have been the role of queen that her mother had envisioned for her, but Rhiannon hoped that her mother did not see her as a complete disappointment? Hopefully.

Who was she kidding, of course her mother saw her as the disappointment. Rhiannon had walked away from a destiny that been assigned to her from birth, and fallen in love with a human. But Rhiannon – or Riana as she was called in the galleian tongue – didn't care. She loved Ambrigatos deeply, and she had not stopped smiling from the moment of their wedding.

Perhaps the gods had even agreed to the match, for when Ambrigatos had asked her to accompany him to Galleia, Rhiannon had not hesitated to go with him. The sea's had been calm all the way through the voyage. Now they were fortunate enough to be granted some quiet time alone. Away from royal courts, council meetings, and seeing to fortifications against attacks. Perhaps now even the small wounds she had inflicted on fingers with a sewing during while embroidering a new flag of Ambrigatos's tribal emblem might even be able to heal properly.

Rhiannon looked around the town that they had decided to visit: Remi, in the Belgae territory. It was rather quaint really, fairly similar in style to Nouiios Bibractii in terms of architecture, but it possessed far less round buildings in comparison, and such round building were limited to the outskirts of town where the farms lay. The town sat next to the ocean on the Santonian Shore, with thick forest surrounding it, and mountains in the distance.

Sitting up on a hill overlooking the down, Rhiannon smiled softly, one hand resting on her large rounded belly. A hard kick against her hand from the baby that was steadily growing within made her grin brighter.
“Not long now little one”, Rhiannon promised her unborn child. Another kick against her hand drew a soft chuckle from the expectant mother. The fae woman looked to her husband who wasn't too far away.
“I never thought we'd be able to get away like this”, she admitted to him, speaking in Galleian. She spoke in his tongue most of the time now, and she was rather fluent – baring the few exceptions of where she tripped up on translations. “For once we aren't being interrupted”.

"There can be no peace. No peace with Foirfich"

It was a long voyage back home, though with calm winds and cooperative weather, it was a nice change of pace. The long ship, a "snekkja class" was carrying at least forty people, twenty of those being the rowers and the others being travelers. Two of them being Ambrigatos and Rhiannon. For Ambrigatos, it was a journey to see home again for once and for both of them, a means to get away from the complicated politics dealt with in Teumnach. The alliance, as fragile as ever, and the war in Speirling steadily growing. The mainland part of the Kingdom of Galleia for now, thank the gods, seem to be at peace for now. Especially with Foirfich's civil war, Galleia can take a breather.

They landed on the Eastern shores, in the town of Remi. It's a coastal settlement, surrounded by mountains and forests and though it was a slightly more northern town, the lack of snow and abundance of greenery in the settlement was definitely nice. There was a nice scent of mountain air, mixing with the sea, and a hint of what probably was rain fall earlier still lingers. The town, despite it's importance as a potential trade hub between Galleia and Teumnach didn't have a wall like the one the Galleians built in Nouiios Bibractii. They only had a wooden palisade here and there, and around important buildings.

Ambrigatos stood atop of a hill overlooking the peaceful town. Despite it being one of the first villages to fall all those years ago, it seems they've managed to do well for themselves after the Foirfichians left. This pleased Ambrigatos, though he dread what he'd see when they make their way to Bibractii.

In the distance, dark clouds looked to be forming overhead and the wind was slowly picking up. The outside wasn't cold enough to snow. Probably a thunderstorm, then, he thought to himself. His assumption was correct as he'd see lightning across what was once a calm sea. Now the waves slowly getting more violent. Fishing boats that were scattered about in the harbour's waters started sailing back to the docks and people looked to be getting ready to brace.

"I never thought we'd be able to get away like this," his thoughts were interrupted by that of his wife, speaking Galleian. "For once we aren't being interrupted."

Ambrigatos smiled softly and took her hand. He knelt over, kissing her hand and then her pregnant belly. "Thank the gods for that," He smiled, "I think we'd best head inside before we get caught in the rain. The chieftain here, Adyantumāros told me that upon hearing of our coming here, prepared a house for us to stay in whenever we come around." A colder breeze flew past them. He removed his cloak and placed it around her shoulders. Though what he was show was a simple round house, it didn't bother him. The Chieftain most likely didn't have enough time to build a full long house just for Ambrigatos and Rhiannon to use for one or two days.

A kiss pressed to the back of her hand by her husband brought about the faintest of rosy hues to her cheeks, but the kiss that followed – pressed to her large pregnant belly – drew a warm smile to Rhiannon's lips. Her eyes sparkled as she gazed at the man that she loved so dearly. Had the gods been kind to her to grant such a man in her life? Taking hold of his hand gently, Rhiannon moved it to her belly, letting him feel the new set of kicks that their unborn child was delivering to the inside of her belly.
“Your son grows stronger”, the fae High Queen murmured softly, but there was a tint of pride behind her tone. Yes, she was proud of their baby, even at this stage.

They still possessed no confirmation that a baby boy was growing within her belly... nothing beyond a strong 'feeling' that Rhiannon possessed. Intuition or even wishful thinking... perhaps even equal parts of both? The fae queen just 'felt' that she was pregnant with a son – a son that would become Ambrigatos's heir. A little prince of Galleia.... an elf prince with the distant blood of a god.

"I think we'd best head inside before we get caught in the rain”.

Rhiannon had been about to question why when a cold breeze picked up at that moment, drawing a shiver from her form. Ambrigatos seemed to have noticed as he pulled off his cloak and wrapped it around her to protect her from the chill. The woman smiled appreciatively at her husband before struggling to her feet. It took a considerable effort considering all the extra weight that she carried on the front of her body. She would have fallen over, had she not used Ambrigatos's sturdy shoulder to brace herself since he was still kneeling on the ground.
“Sooner this kid is child, the better”, Rhiannon muttered softly, mostly to herself, as she let go of Ambrigatos's shoulder.

As much as Rhiannon loved the fact that a child of Ambrigatos was steadily growing within her and was soon due to enter the world kicking and screaming, she was getting tired of the extra effort that it took to achieve a simple task as standing up or sitting down. She longed for the freedom of movement again.

Thunder rumbled in the distance; lightning playing across the horizon. Rain could now be seen falling into the ocean as the clouds rolled closer to the coast. Rhiannon looked at the approaching storm for a moment before a sudden thought crossed her mind. What were the chances of her child being born during a storm? It was during such a storm when she and Ambrigatos had made love for the first time; it was also during a storm when Rhiannon had learned of her pregnancy. If her child entered the world during a storm.... it would be all too true to form.

Her galleian breed horse Ceallach snorted from where he was standing, hitched up to a chariot. They are brought Ceallach instead of Thora as he was quieter, and frankly, less dangerous to Rhiannon's condition.
“Well, you know where we are going... I haven't a clue”, Rhiannon commented with a chuckle to Ambrigatos, taking advantage of his still kneeling position to press a kiss to his cheek lightly.

Ambrigatos slowly climbed to his feet, brushing the dirt from his trousers and tunic. He might have to be honest to her sooner or later. While at the current moment, they're on their honeymoon, Ambrigatos also needed to use his time in Galleia to instill his rule among the people. So far, it seems Adyantumaros is loyal to Ambrigatos. For the others. The Aedui and the Arvernii chieftains are currently in Nouiios Bibractii, however, it's not far fetched to assume the oppida will have selected a new chieftain by now.

Galleia needs to know that it's new king is here.

He looked out towards the town of Remi. He remembers that this was initially the first town he suggested as a gift to Arandur before the king went mad. With Aktau now on the table and the political turmoil going on in both lands, he needed to also figure out a way to keep both Remi and Aktau under the Galleian flag.

Ambrigatos needed to act quickly in Galleia. Fortunately to his knowledge, the only navy Teumnach has is a snekkja long ship made specifically for Rhodri's bandit hunters who are allies.

Ambrigatos removed the thoughts of his plans from his mind for the kingdom from his mind. Turning his attention to his wife and his unborn child. He looked out to the town of Remi, looking on towards the building that was their's for the time being. Making his way there, leading both his wife and the two horses, Ceallach, and his own nameless horse of whom he couldn't figure out a name for yet. The two horses followed, drawing the chariot they'd brought from Nouiios Bibractii. Though it was insisted by Brennus they'd bring his carriage, a carriage of that size would probably have sunk the small 23 crew ship.

"I should probably get some fire wood ready," He told Rhiannon, kissing her cheek softly before heading to retrieve a wood cutting axe and chop some wood suitable for tonight's warmth.

There was a little distance between them as Rhiannon followed Ambrigatos to the round house that had been hurriedly made available for them. She would have linked arms with him and rested her head against his shoulder, had he not been leading the two horses that pulled the chariot. The black stallion with the wide white blaze adorning his face, Ceallach, merely snorted in greeting to the galleian king.

Rhiannon's memories drifted to the time she had been gifted Ceallach. It had been the night she had learned that the usurper king of Foirfich had been removed from power. Her father and aunt had learned that her family had originally been of the Gwydion name and decreed that the Teumnachian royal family would be called so once again. Galleian nobles had been outed for the plotting and murder of not only Ambrigatos's brother, Caturix, but their mother as well.

And the night she had learned that she was with child. Ambrigatos's child. The night he had asked for her hand in marriage, 'when all of this is over'. Rhiannon smiled softly at that part of the memory. Despite everything that had happened that night, Ambrigatos asking her to marry him was the part she loved most. And here she was now, happily married to him.

"I should probably get some fire wood ready".

The voice of her beloved broke her from the memories. Rhiannon smiled as Ambrigatos kissed her cheek.
"Don't take too long", she responded, pulling his warm cloak tighter around her shoulders. "Fire wont be enough to keep me warm. I'll need you as well".
A smirk crossed her lips before she stepped in through the door. It was true though; the closer they had gotten to Galleia, the colder nights seemed to be. And they were here in the dead of winter. Rhiannon was used to the warm winters of Teumnach, not bitter cold ones.

Inside the round house a small fire was already burning, but it was fairly low, nearing just coals now. Still, it provided a little warmth. An idea came to her; a pot of tea would warm her. Rhiannon rummaged through a small bag amongst the belongings she had brought from Teumnach, extracting a pouch of dried tea leaves. Green tea. Finding the metal kettle that the Remi Chieftain had provided and some water. While waiting for the water to boil, Rhiannon added the tea leaves to an infuser, sitting it in a mug. The infuser was a special device she had obtained from Gaothaidh. It looked much like two spoons facing each other, but with holes pierced through them, and the spoons seperated with a hinge so that the tea leaves could sit inside, immersed in water, and not turn the tea into 'leaf soup'.

Everything was set, the water just needed to boil. With that, Rhiannon sat down on one of the long wooden bench seats that was covered in the furry hides of various animals. She tried not to think about what animals they would have come from.

"There can be no peace. No peace with Foirfich"

He took a quick walk across the town to the nearest mead hall first. With the weather acting as it is, and everywhere closing up, it was going to be a long night in the round house. If he could get a few jugs of mead before the downpour begins. He entered the mead hall empty and left within a few easy moments and six 'schooner sized' jugs full of mead. He felt he didn't need many as he'd be the only one drinking as she is with child.

He placed the six jugs down beside the entrance before returning to wood chopping duties. He removed his cloak from his shoulders as the wind was making it rather inconvenient. Yet, the cold was close to getting to him. he managed to chop enough to last the night until morning when they're to leave for Bibracte and eventually Tolosa and maybe Iska.

He also knew that he might have to buy warmer blankets for the winter. The winters of Teumnach were too warm to ever be considered winter where as the winters in Galleia where bitter and unforgiving. Since the Gallo-Foirfichian War started, it was said that many new borns lost their lives, not being able to survive such harshness and he did not want that for his own. He brought two of the chopped logs in, placing them on the hearth fire, to keep it going, while the rest were placed beside the door. The mugs were placed close to the other side of the building and the axe next to the bed just in case he needed to chop more.

The rain finally started to fall, but it did not last too long. As dusk settled to night, the rain turned to thick snow, as if Remi's shield from the stuff was no longer there. The cold wind whistled past the front door, and despite the hastiness to which the building was built, the shape of it kept it steady. With the fire keeping the room warm, melting and evaporating any snow that tried entering through the smoke-escape in the ceiling, the two inside where kept warm.

Ambrigatos, with a jug of mead in one hand, looked out towards the scene as the sea-side town was being covered by a pale blanket. Light from the hearth fires lit up from the open doors of the buildings and from the looks of things, the sea, and wind calmed enough that a single boatman sat outside with, probably a Foirfichian lamp and a fishing rod. He wondered if Rhiannon had ever seen such a winter where the snow was fresh and unmolested by footprints. A quick look at her, he smiled a smile of pure happiness for once. With his lover at his side, his new born on the way, if this is what it looks to be a peasant, then, whether he'd be peasant, or king, he would be happy.

Her unborn writhed within her belly, making Rhiannon grasp at the sudden movement, glancing down at the large round that was her stomach. She ran her hands over the shape, feeling the moments trace her hands as if the baby was playing 'follow the leader'. It wouldn't be long now before the precious infant would enter the world kicking and screaming and Rhiannon could not be more anxious to meet them.

Her baby. Ambri's baby.

Rhiannon hummed softly as she rubbed her belly, waiting for the kettle to boil for her tea and also quieting the unborn infant. She had found some time ago that rubbing stomach seemed to calm the child within, almost as if the moment lulled them to sleep.

When the metal kettle started to boil, Rhiannon grabbed a rag and lifted it from the fire, pouring the hot liquid into the mug where it began to mix with the tea leaves and brew the tea slowly. The smell alone suddenly made Rhiannon miss her home in Teumnach, and her siblings. Rhodri was anxious to meet the progeny of his sister and brother-in-law, and not to mention Lorelei. Sweet Lorelei was with-child herself and needed the support and guidance of someone whom had gone through it all before. Would their mother care enough to be that support?

Setting the kettle aside, Rhiannon felt rather than saw a set of eyes watching her. She smiled. Standing up straight and turning to look at him, Rhiannon smiled at Ambrigatos. Her love... her husband. The other half of her heart and soul.
"Are you going to stand there all day watching me, or are you coming inside my love?" Rhiannon asked of him.
